Which heart valve controls blood flow from the right ventricle to the lungs?

The pulmonary valve is responsible for controlling blood flow from the right ventricle to the lungs. This valve ensures that deoxygenated blood is efficiently sent to the lungs where it can receive oxygen and release carbon dioxide. When the right ventricle contracts, the pulmonary valve opens, allowing blood to flow through the pulmonary artery toward the lungs. Once the blood has circulated through the lungs and is oxygenated, the pulmonary valve closes to prevent backflow into the right ventricle when it relaxes.

In contrast, the aortic valve is involved in regulating blood flow from the left ventricle into the aorta and onward to the body, while the mitral valve manages blood flow between the left atrium and the left ventricle. The tricuspid valve controls blood flow between the right atrium and right ventricle.
